EICs Health provides on demand solutions for insurance companies, brokerages, third party administrators that are entrusted with administering benefits and claims for insurance companies.
There's a tremendous amount of data in healthcare. We were at the point where we had around 80 clients and they all had some type of, uh, data exchange requirement.
What we typically did was we would write different exports data to do.
We thought by empowering our clients with the tool, where we would have a connector that connected to our database so our clients could then drag and drop the information they wanted to export and then create their own processes and their own automation. The reason we reached out to Acton in the beginning was to help our users empower our users to move data in and outta their systems.
We wanted our tool to be able to be used by non-technical people. We currently are using Data Connect.
We can take any of hundreds of examples, change in input definition, change in output definition, tweak the mapping, and we're off. It's hard to match the speed and you can't argue it. I would say the biggest competitive advantage with the Appian solution would be empowering our clients to automate their processes of both moving data in and out of their platform to all their different trading partners and vendors that they work with.
Prior to Appian, we would have to create special programs for this vendor, that vendor special processes to take data from banks and or clearing houses.
It got to the point where there were so many different customers and so many different import export requirements that we actually had a backlog of our development staff.
Data Connect is a great innovation tool that lets us model, which is something very important to us, and I think that, you know, gives us many more opportunities than we would normally get.
