An Evening With Peers
We’ll discuss how HCL Informix® isn’t just getting vectors free in 2026—Actian’s wiring it for agents through MCP, building in autonomy guardrails, and evolving it into a true foundation for production AI systems. Our Speakers
Jean-Georges “JGP” Perrin
Senior Product Manager
Jean-Georges “JGP” Perrin has been talking to databases since before it was cool, and to Informix since before it was IBM’s. He spent 15 years on the IIUG board, giving talks, editing the Insider, rebuilding the website, and doing whatever else a volunteer board does when nobody else raises a hand. IBM noticed and made him a Champion, then, presumably tired of renewing it every year, a Lifetime IBM Champion. He has since spoken at 215+ conferences, written books on Apache Spark and data mesh (O’Reilly, Manning), and is finishing Building Data Products (O’Reilly). Today he works in the Office of the CTO at Actian, chairs the Linux Foundation’s Bitol project (ODCS and ODPS, the open standards for data contracts and data products), and still believes the best database is the one already running in production. He blogs at http://jgp.ai.
