Steffen Kläbe

Chief Researcher, Actian

Steffen Kläbe is Chief Researcher at Actian, where he develops research-driven perspectives on modern data management and AI-ready architectures. His work focuses on translating advanced database technologies into practical solutions for real-world AI systems.

He plays a key role in shaping Actian’s database and AI roadmap, contributing to innovations such as in-database machine learning, vector search, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). He works closely with engineering, product, and partners to bring these capabilities into production environments.

Informix Chief Architect, HCL Informix®

John (JC) Lengyel, Chief Architect at HCL Informix, is a seasoned database expert with over three decades of experience shaping Informix into a high-performance, secure, and reliable solution. His deep understanding of Informix’s inner workings has been instrumental in driving its continued adoption and innovation. By consistently listening to customer feedback and implementing their insights, JC has played a pivotal role in enhancing Informix’s capabilities and ensuring its prominence for decades to come.

David Coote

Senior Principal Consultant, Actian

David Coote is a Senior Principal Consultant at Actian with more than 40 years of experience in IT and over three decades working with Actian Ingres and Actian OpenROAD technologies. He began his career in 1983 as an ICL mainframe operator for Nottingham City Council before moving into programming and working with Ingres and Windows 4GL, which later became OpenROAD, from 1991.

David has worked in professional services since 2000, supporting customers across roles at Computer Associates, Ingres and Actian. He brings extensive hands-on experience of enterprise database environments and the evolution of Ingres and OpenROAD technologies.

Peter Gale

Global Architect, Actian

Peter Gale is Global Architect for Actian Ingres, bringing extensive experience in database technology, systems software and enterprise data solutions. He works with customers on technical strategy and architecture, with a particular focus on modernising established Ingres environments and connecting them with today’s data and integration ecosystems.

Before joining Actian, Peter held senior technical, customer and presales roles at companies including MobiledgeX, Scalr, Joyent and Samsung Electronics. His experience spans cloud computing, enterprise infrastructure and emerging technologies, giving him a broad perspective on how established database technologies can evolve alongside changing enterprise requirements.

Venue: Mercedes-Benz World Conference Center

The event will take place at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey, located on the historic Brooklands motor racing circuit. It is around 30 minutes from central London and within easy reach of Heathrow Airport, with nearby rail connections via Weybridge. The site includes the Mercedes-Benz test track and exhibition areas, reflecting its roots in automotive engineering and motorsport.
