Los empleados de Actian corren a por el oro...en Donuts
All work and no play makes for a hungry team, according to Actian employees, or at least that’s what we found out during a local community event.
With our new location nestled in the quiet little city of Round Rock, it was time to venture out and find new ways to embrace the new surroundings. We caught wind of a new tradition that was going to take place, and it involved donuts soooo… what were we waiting for?
A small group of us decided to sign up for the 1st Annual Round Rock Donut Dash 5K. If you’ve never heard of Round Rock Donuts, where have you been? This famous establishment has been in business since 1926 and has been featured on national platforms such as USA Today, The Food Network, and The Jimmy Kimmel Show, just to name a few.
Entonces, ¿qué hizo que esta 5K fuera diferente a todas las demás? En resumen: ¡mucho! La categoría de competidores desafiaba a los corredores a correr la primera mitad de la carrera hasta una parada en la que 12 donuts Round Rock estarían esperando para ser demolidos antes de poder completar la segunda mitad de la carrera, todo ello en menos de una hora. Al principio parecía una pequeña hazaña, pero poco sabía nuestro equipo de lo difícil que sería este reto. Dicho esto, Daniel, Tony y yo no nos amilanamos ante la tarea. Fuimos, comimos y vencimos.
Nos complace informar de que ningún empleado de Actian resultó herido durante su intento en este evento y todos los participantes que se inscribieron en la categoría challenger completaron con éxito el reto.
