Actian vs. Collibra

We chose to switch from Collibra to Actian for three main reasons. Firstly, unlike Collibra, we were impressed by Actian’s ability to connect instantly to our data sources without needing to rely on third party tools. Indeed, connecting to modern data platforms often requires customization, and Actian was able to meet our connectivity needs.

Additionally, we were impressed by Actian’s Bottom Up approach, which allowed us to democratize data access. In contrast, Collibra’s Top Down method was more conceptual and complex, involving the use of workflows that we deemed unnecessary and hindered democratization. Finally, when comparing the TCO of both solutions including subscription and implementation costs Actian proved to be a much more cost effective option than Collibra.
