TPC-H benchmarks
The TPC-H benchmark is the industry-recognized independent standard for measuring analytic database performance. The benchmark consists of a set of 22 queries and concurrent data updates against a pre-defined schema. Performance is measured as the normalized number of queries per hour taking into account the number of parallel streams running queries. TPC-H enables a fair comparison across database technologies running on different configurations.
The innovations in the Vectorwise database software to achieve ultra-efficient, high performance data processing on standard hardware are best illustrated by the following chart showing TPC-H 1 TB benchmark results. Vectorwise not only outperforms other database solutions by at least 2x more queries per hour, but the list price of the hardware to achieve the result is only a fraction of what other vendors require to achieve their best performance results.
Vectorwise has been benchmarked on standard servers from Dell, Cisco and HP, and continues to demonstrate performance, price/performance, and energy efficiency that is better than any other vendor by an order of magnitude. Vectorwise results have been published for the TPC-H benchmark at 100 GB, 300 GB and 1 TB scales.
