Actian's Action App enables you to access and act upon your sales and marketing data in Salesforce.com, LinkedIn and Google Analytics. With this revolutionary BI app, sales and marketing users can build real working Action Apps today to set alerts and triggers and then take action on changes to their data. Sample data is also provided for those without Salesforce accounts.

Where are Action Apps used?

Whether it's monitoring a particular company’s stock price, keeping an eye on your competition’s sales data, or watching your prospects’ credit ratings rise and fall, every Action App is customized by you to meet your tailored information needs.

Action Apps, which run on Actian’s Action Server platform, are designed to constantly scan a wide variety of disparate data sources for business events, including Salesforce.com, LinkedIn and Google Analytics. Over time, more data sources will be added, giving you an ever-increasing source of mobile data analytics to meet your business needs. The ability to include data from highly structured corporate CRM, ERP and SaaS systems and social offerings such as Twitter and Facebook posts will also be added. Using the mobile client app, you define the changes in the data you’re interested in, and the Action Server will execute the actions you specify when they occur.

For example, an electronic retailer can set triggers to monitor social media data for conversations about fashion trends and what celebrities are wearing during special events. Action triggers can be set around topics that pertain to the retailer inventory such as the colors and styles that match the social conversation. If the triggers reach a certain threshold of activity, then the retailer can conduct “action merchandising” to automatically capitalize on this trend.

If you need to customize the available data sources, triggers and actions beyond the standard set of those available on the Cloud platform, the Action Server platform can also be deployed on-premise to provide access to private data sources.
