Proven integration of Vectorwise JDBC and ODBC drivers with SAP BusinessObjects
CeBIT, Hanover, Germany – March 7th, 2012 – Actian Corporation today announced that Vectorwise, the company’s fast and cost-effective analytic database, is fully certified with SAP BusinessObjects having concluded a period of successful JDBC and ODBC driver testing.
Certified by SAP Labs, version 1.6 of the high performance BI database Vectorwise was tested with SAP BusinessObjects using Pentium PC-Hardware running Windows XP. Replicating business operations, Vectorwise’s JDBC driver 3.8.3 (integration BO-DS-WI-J 3.0) and ODBC driver 3.5 (integration BO-DS-WI-OW 3.0) were tested for compatibility with SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1.
The proven compatibility of the two product sets provides numerous benefits for users of Vectorwise. Given the widespread usage of SAP solutions within the enterprise market, the integration with Vectorwise is of major significance; two strong technologies are now united and represent an unbeatable solution for end-users for Actionable BI.
The BI application SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO) Web Intelligence allows users to analyze a wide variety of business information through an intuitive GUI which is simple to navigate and does not require users to have technical knoweldge or training. Accessing data sources held by third party applications and creating interactive reports is done via a simple drag and drop process. Users benefit from advanced visualization functions with two and three dimensional views. Ad hoc queries and intuitive analyses of heterogeneous data volumes can be then run either online or offline.
There are many advantages of using the fast analytic database, Vectorwise, in SAP envinronments, given that Vectorwise is now tested and certified for SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence in its function as a third-party data source. Furthermore, SAP BO can now be used seamlessly as a front-end BI application for the fastest and most affordable analytic database, thereby expanding the reach of Vectorwise in the BI and data warehousing market. In both cases, users of both Vectorwise and SAP BO get the best of both worlds.
Vectorwise is a high-performance analytic database that supports all common standards (SQL, JDBC etc), is optimized to support existing BI environments for interactive reporting and analysis and leverages the power of advanced mainstream CPUs. Vectorwise includes a database engine that uses vector-based processing and on-chip memory to achieve significant performance improvements for real-time inquiries and analyses compared to other databases.
