More Data Scientists Needed, or Better Products

The Wall Street Journal highlights the need for more scientists to analyze the exploding volume of data, http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20110512-712027.html. Companies that exploit data analytics in their business model gain a competitive and perhaps a long term strategic advantage. Consequently, this move will also require companies to invest in technology, as well as people and process. It should also open the door to solutions that are a closer match to the existing process and skills in organizations.
