We DO Hadoop: Riding Sky-High with Actian SQL-in-Hadoop Launch at #HadoopSummit

Share

Wow! “Hadoop Summit” is aptly named as a record number of attendees (more than 2500) descended yesterday on one of the industry’s most talked-about big data events.  Which makes it a supremely fitting launchpad for Actian’s newest offering – the world’s high-performing, most industrialized SQL access to Hadoop data with the only end-to-end analytic processing natively in Hadoop.

We are opening eyes to the expanding possibilities of data analytics, meeting the unmet needs of millions of Hadoop customers and causing great consternation to our competitors. It is the most consumable, accessible, manageable Hadoop analytics product in the market today.

Day One of the summit was amazing, and our launch got people talking, including Datanami, ZDNet, 451 Research, Business-Cloud, InformationWeek, TechWeek Europe, Database Trends and Applications, Enterprise Apps Today, Informatique, Inside Big Data, V3, CMS Wire, SiliconANGLE – the list goes on. My favorite headline of the day came from CMS Wire: “Actian to Cloudera:  Eat My Dust!”

We also joined with longtime partner Hortonworks to announce that we’re a charter member of the YARN Ready Program. Renowned database architecture innovator Peter Boncz, Actian’s technical advisor for our new SQL-in-Hadoop platform, gave a lively and eye-popping overview of the new offering titled “Highest-Performing SQL-in-Hadoop” and then hosted a signing party at our booth for his seminal co-authored article on columnar databases. If you missed Peter’s presentation, take a peek at his guest blog on the topic.

The data beat goes on through Thursday June 5 – come on by Booth P6 and see our amazing new offering for yourself!
